Israeli Army Chief of Staff: 2025 will be the year of war against Gaza and Iran

The General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has undergone changes. On March 5, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir officially assumed the post of Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army. Zamir: “Victory is the most important value”

In his speech, Eyal Zamir expressed his opinion on the future plans of the Israeli army. According to him, the Israeli army should not only support the tactics of restraint, but also act with the aim of achieving a definite victory.

“The IDF has focused in recent years only on relative victories or deterring attacks. But we need to change this tactic. The concept of ‘victory’ must be a strategic value for us,” Zamir said.

Zamir said that the IDF will pay special attention to military operations in the Gaza and Iran directions next year. He plans to include in these plans tasks such as creating a new tank division, strengthening the infantry and redeveloping the military strategy.

Goals of the new lieutenant general

As he assumes one of the highest positions in the army, Eyal Zamir promised to further strengthen the IDF and achieve new military successes.

He also stressed that all opportunities will be used to free civilians held hostage by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

“I appeal to the families of the hostages: I will do everything in my power to save them,” Zamir said.

He stressed that the IDF is forced to reshape itself in line with the new era and change its strategy to combat its adversaries.

The conflict between Israel and Iran is escalating

The statements of the Israeli army leadership directed at Iran may further increase tensions between Tel Aviv and Tehran. In recent months, there has been an exchange of attacks between Israel and Iran.
