Netanyahu Orders Expansion of Gaza Occupation

The Middle East, remaining the most painful point on the global community and international political stage, continues to see alarming and complex news in recent days. Against the backdrop of long-standing conflicts between Israel and Palestine, the situation in the Gaza Strip has taken a new, more acute turn.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that he has given official orders to the country's armed forces to penetrate deeper into the Gaza Strip and significantly expand the scale of controlled territories. Following the bloody events of 2023 and the two-year destructive war that ensued, the Gaza territory has been reduced to near ruins, with most of it currently under the control of the Israeli army.
Despite international peace agreements, we analyze in detail the reasons for the renewed complexity in the region and the true motives behind the political scene.
The violation of the 'Yellow Line' and Netanyahu's ambitions
In October 2025, an important agreement on a bilateral ceasefire and truce was signed under US mediation. According to this document, Israeli military units were supposed to withdraw behind a special 'Yellow Line' defining their control border. At that time, this map left about 53 percent of the total area of the Gaza Strip under Israeli control, with the rest under Hamas administration.

However, international observers and the influential Reuters news agency have revealed that the Israeli side has unilaterally violated this agreement:
Israeli military forces have pushed the massive concrete blocks representing the 'yellow line' toward internal areas controlled by Hamas. Military maps released in March of this year show that Israel's restricted zone now covers about 64 percent of Gaza's total land. Netanyahu himself repeatedly mentions in public appearances that they hold more than 60 percent of the territory.
Speaking at a political conference held in the occupied West Bank, the Prime Minister responded to shouts from the audience saying, 'We must occupy 100 percent of the territory!' by outlining his plans as follows:
“We currently control 60 percent of the territory. It was 50 before, now we have moved to 60. The primary goal is 70 percent. Let's start with that first. We are squeezing them [Hamas] from all sides, and we will deal with the rest later.”.
Political games: Elections and the distraction maneuver
According to analysts at the influential US newspaper The New York Times (NYT), personal political interests lie behind this increased aggression in Gaza. At the end of this year, Israel will hold re-elections expected to be very difficult, and Netanyahu is attempting to distract the local population from internal problems through these military actions.
What bad news is worrying the Israeli government?
Failure in Lebanon: The Israeli armed forces are facing great difficulties in stopping the relentless attacks organized by the Hezbollah group from southern Lebanon, especially through modern drones (unmanned aerial vehicles).
International concern: Many Israelis are seriously concerned that a 'bad deal' contrary to Israeli interests will be signed at the end of the secret negotiations being conducted between the US and Iran.
Victims in the shadow of the truce and tragedy during the holiday
The Israeli leadership calls these occupied lands in Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon 'buffer zones' that supposedly ensure their security. However, Palestinians consider this part of a strategy of complete expulsion from their lands and forced migration.
Most tragically, at a time when the peace plan proposed by the US and negotiations on the withdrawal of Israeli troops have reached a dead end, ordinary civilians continue to die. Health officials report that more than 900 Palestinians have lost their lives as a result of Israeli strikes since the truce was announced.
Recently, during the holy days when the entire Muslim world was celebrating the great Eid al-Adha holiday and the people of Gaza were gathered around a table amidst ruins and tents, an airstrike resulted in the death of at least 10 civilians, including 5 innocent children. The Israeli side claims that a top leader of the Hamas military wing was eliminated in this attack.
The greatest wish of the entire world remains for peace and stability to be established in the region and for the death of innocent people to stop. Continue following our page, dear readers.
