The 30-day truce between Ukraine and Russia: Zelensky and Putin's relationship

The 30-day truce between Ukraine and Russia: Zelensky and Putin's relationship
Russian President Vladimir Putin's proposal for a 30-day ceasefire on the frontline has caused a lot of international discussion. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the proposal as "manipulative" and "expected". According to him, Putin is trying to artificially prolong the peace process and secretly continue the war.

Zelensky's reaction to Putin's proposal

According to the Ukrainian president, it is known that Russia, without giving a direct refusal, is setting various conditions to prolong the negotiation process for a long time. Zelensky said in his address:

"Putin is afraid of a direct refusal. That is why he is putting conditions on the ceasefire proposal that will ensure that nothing will happen or that the process will drag on for as long as possible. Russia always does this - it does not refuse outright, but it makes normal solutions almost impossible."

According to Zelensky, Ukraine has the opportunity to control this process with the help of the United States and the European Union. He called for increased international pressure on Putin and the imposition of new sanctions.

Putin's position

Russian President Vladimir Putin, however, stressed that the 30-day ceasefire regime will be implemented only if it can lead to long-term peace. In his opinion, Ukraine can use the ceasefire period to receive new weapons and regroup its army.

"We have agreed to the proposal for a ceasefire in Ukraine, but it must lead to a real and lasting peace. If Kiev uses the 30 days to try to accumulate new weapons and forces, this process will lose its meaning," Putin said.

West and international relations

The United States proposed a 30-day ceasefire during talks with the Ukrainian delegation in Saudi Arabia. The Ukrainian side agreed to this, but Russia said that it was necessary to discuss how this process would be implemented.

According to Western media reports, Putin is trying to artificially prolong this process and conclude a truce on the most favorable terms for Moscow. In addition, the future of the war between Russia and Ukraine directly depends on the international political situation.

The issue of a 30-day ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia reflects a very complex political situation. Zelensky calls it another Russian manipulation, while Putin says such a pause will be ineffective unless long-term peace is guaranteed. The international community is watching how this process develops, but the ceasefire talks are still facing serious problems.
