Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that his government will take decisive measures against ongoing street unrest. According to him, Turkey "will not surrender to street terrorism" as the country "was not found on the streets."
Erdoğan criticized the opposition for calling on people to protest, where police officers were injured. He described these actions as an attack on Turkey’s stability and emphasized that the government will not tolerate illegal demonstrations and riots.
"Following marginal groups, attacking the police, and threatening judges and prosecutors will not achieve anything," Erdoğan said. He also claimed that the opposition is using anti-corruption protests as a cover for creating disorder.
Meanwhile, the leader of the Republican People's Party, Özgür Özel, stated that the protests will continue. He urged security forces not to use tear gas and rubber bullets against demonstrators. Turkish media report that police have used force against protesters, but officials deny the allegations.
As a result of the clashes, several protesters sought medical help, while 16 police officers were injured. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
