Zelensky sharply criticized Putin's "peace" proposal: "We value human life, not a parade!"
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has sharply criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin's proposal to declare a temporary "truce" in Ukraine from May 8 to May 10. According to the Ukrainian leader, Russia is again trying to manipulate this and deceive international partners, such as the United States.

Zelensky stressed this in his evening video address on Monday, April 29.

"We are ready to cooperate with international partners to stop any war. However, Russia is still rejecting all proposals and is only busy manipulating and deceiving the international community. Now they are trying to play another trick: why do they say that everyone should wait until May 8, and we should be silent when Putin is holding a parade,” Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian president stressed that such proposals cannot be accepted and reminded that respecting human life is much more important than parades.

“We value human life, not parades. The whole world believes in this. That is why there is no reason to wait for May 8 to stop the fire. The war should be stopped not temporarily, but with a permanent, guaranteed and reliable ceasefire of at least 30 days. They cannot keep quiet for a few days and then return to killing people,” Zelensky said sharply.

The Ukrainian president also spoke about the drone attack by the Russian army in the Cherkassy region. He said that in this case, too, an object important not for military purposes, but for civilians, was damaged, and work was underway to restore gas supplies.

Zelensky once again called on the world to pay attention to the fate of civilians in Ukraine and demand that Russia immediately cease all hostilities.
