A new economic agreement has been signed between the governments of the United States and Ukraine, which is important for the country's reconstruction. This was announced by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant in an interview with Fox Business Network on May 1.
The US Treasury Secretary described the new agreement as a full-fledged economic partnership that will allow US President Donald Trump to conduct negotiations with Russia more successfully.
"This agreement is a clear signal to the Russian leadership. The document shows that there are no contradictions or disagreements between the peoples of Ukraine and America. We understand that America will not benefit if Ukrainians do not live well. So now the two countries are fully integrated economically. This will create an opportunity for President Trump to negotiate with Russia on a stronger basis," Scott Bessant said in his interview.
The minister also stressed that the new agreement concerns not only rare metals, but also infrastructure and energy sectors. “Thus, the agreement is beneficial for both countries and can be a win-win situation,” the American official concluded.
It should be recalled that as a result of long-term diplomatic negotiations between the governments of the United States and Ukraine, an economic agreement was signed. According to this agreement, signed on the night of May 1, a special investment fund will be created to rebuild Ukraine, which was subjected to military action by Russia three years ago. The agreement was signed by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant on the US side and Economy Minister Yulia Sviridenko on the Ukrainian side. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
