An unexpected incident that occurred in the US state of Kentucky has caused a stir among Internet users. A second-grader named Liam ordered 70,000 Dum-Dums candies from Amazon using his mother's phone. The boy's mother, Holly LaFavers, reported this on her Facebook page.
How did the incident happen?
According to Holly LaFavers, when she returned home after a hard day, she was shocked to see 30 boxes of Dum-Dums in her room. Each box contained approximately 2,340 candies, which is equivalent to 70,000 sweets in total.
The reason for the boy's curiosity…
It turns out that Liam's mother had been watching the process of ordering through Amazon and one day took the opportunity to buy some candy of his own. In any case, she managed to do everything as planned - the family received an order for $ 4,200 through Amazon.
What did Amazon do?
Later, Amazon studied the situation and, correctly assessing the situation, agreed to return 8 of the 30 boxes. The woman tried to sell the remaining 22 boxes in her area - to relatives, neighbors and through social networks.

After discussions and public coverage, Amazon decided to fully refund the $ 4,200 payment for this “sweet problem”. This was a relief for the woman and the child, otherwise the candies could have been in the warehouse or in the neighbor’s room for a long time.
It ended well
Holly and her son Liam donated most of the candy to local charities - schools, churches, children's organizations. This was a positive ending to the event and was met with applause from those around.
The event once again reminded children of the need to monitor their online activities. But it also ended with bright smiles, a sweet conclusion and a large-scale donation. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
