US plans to reduce tariffs on Chinese goods to 54%

The administration of US President Donald Trump plans to reduce tariffs on Chinese imports from 145% to 50–54% during negotiations with Beijing, reports Kursiv .

Washington is expected to ease its tariff policy towards China starting next week. Additionally, Washington intends to lower tariffs for South Asian countries to 25%.

In late April, Trump stated that the tariffs he imposed on Chinese goods were too high. He noted that the tariffs would be significantly reduced but would not be eliminated entirely.
