
On the night of May 18, Russia launched the largest drone attack in history on Ukrainian territory. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, 273 drones were launched in one night - the highest number since the start of the war. Of these, only 88 were shot down by Ukrainian air defenses.
It is noted that 128 of the drones were special simulators - their purpose was to distract Ukrainian defense systems.
Most of the strikes were carried out on Kiev
The main focus of the attack was Kiev and the surrounding areas. The air alert in the capital lasted more than 8 hours. As a result of the attack in the Obukhov district, a 28-year-old woman was killed, a four-year-old child, a 59-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman were injured to varying degrees. The drones partially destroyed a private house and damaged a multi-storey residential building.
Fire and casualties in Fastov
A drone strike in the Fastov district caused a fire at a local factory. A warehouse and a medical center were completely destroyed. It was confirmed that 5,000 square meters of buildings were reduced to ashes.

Also, drone strikes were recorded in the Donetsk and Dnepropetrovsk regions. No information about casualties has been provided yet.
The strike took place before the Trump-Putin meeting
This complex Russian attack was carried out after it became known that US President Donald Trump was planning to talk to Vladimir Putin by phone. Trump is also expected to talk to Vladimir Zelensky the next day.
