Dispute over Gaza in Berlin: Israel gives aid, Germany rebukes
During negotiations held in Berlin, the foreign ministers of Germany and Israel seriously clashed over the humanitarian situation in Gaza. German Foreign Minister Iogan Wadeful accused Israel of delaying the delivery of aid to civilians in the Gaza Strip. According to him, people have been left without food and medicine, and among those forced to walk long distances to aid centers, some have died.

"I am deeply worried about the difficult condition of people in Gaza. They bravely set out to get help, but some do not return," said Wadeful.

According to him, humanitarian organizations must be granted "immediate and unrestricted" access to the Gaza territory.

In response, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar stated that the aid delivery system had been changed, and this decision was a measure against HAMAS’s misuse of the aid. According to him, aid previously delivered through the old system had become not only a source of income for HAMAS but also a tool to fund their military operations.

"Terrorists were stealing humanitarian aid and selling it to civilians. We launched a new system of food distribution through the Gaza Humanitarian Fund. This system bypasses HAMAS and is aimed at directly supporting the civilians," said Saar.

According to him, within the first week of resumed deliveries, 7 million meals were distributed to Gaza’s population. Saar also noted that the new system should weaken HAMAS’s control over the population and could potentially shorten the war.

"We ask our German friends to give this initiative a chance. This is a real opportunity to free the Palestinian people from HAMAS’s harmful influence and to put an end to the war," he emphasized.

On June 5, the Israeli army released an audio recording of a conversation between two Gazan citizens. In the recording, they can be heard discussing HAMAS’s attempts to disrupt aid distribution:

"They don’t want people to receive aid. They are trying to sabotage the plan so that food reaches them and they can steal it. They are completely broken — literally."

The dispute in Berlin clearly revealed different approaches to the complex situation in Gaza. One side demands efficiency in aid delivery, while the other prioritizes security and the prevention of abuse.
