Some of the world’s most bizarre wills leave people completely baffled. Some seem like a joke, while others feel like pure drama.
A shoemaker from Marseille, France, wrote the most inappropriate will. Of the 123 words in the document, 94 were too inappropriate to say out loud.
The shortest will was written by a London banker. It read: “I am completely broken.”
The longest will belonged to one of the founding fathers of the United States — Thomas Jefferson. It stated that the inheritance would only be granted after all slaves were freed.
The will written by a laboratory assistant of the famous physicist Niels Bohr turned into a puzzle for linguists. It contained so many scientific terms and expressions that experts had to be involved to understand it.
The largest amount of money was left by Henry Ford — 500 million dollars were bequeathed to 4,157 educational and charitable institutions.
The most secretive will was left by billionaire Michel Rothschild. In it, he stated: “I strictly forbid the disclosure and announcement of the amount of my inheritance.” That’s why the value he left behind remains unknown.
Film producer and millionaire Roger Dorcas, meanwhile, left his 65 million dollars to his dog named Maximilian. He even registered the dog officially as a person. His wife, on the other hand, received just 1 cent. But the wife wasn’t foolish: she married Maximilian and inherited all the wealth after the dog’s death. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
