A village in Russia is home to 18 long-livers
Surkh-Digora is a small village located in the Republic of North Ossetia–Alania, which is part of the Russian Federation. However, this place is unique for the whole country: it has once again been listed in the Russian Book of Records. Once again — for the number of long-living residents, reports Pravilamag.

Currently, Surkh-Digora is home to 18 residents over the age of 90. The oldest among them is Sonya Khadziretovna Arkaeva, born on February 10, 1927. She is 98 years old and remains physically active. The “youngest” of the long-livers is Sergey Nikolaevich Sakiev, born on July 1, 1935 — he is 90 years old.

The official website of the Russian Book of Records has published the names and photos of all the long-living residents. Surkh-Digora had already set a similar record earlier — in 2021, the village had 17 elderly residents.

According to local experts and doctors, the main contributing factors to such longevity are:

- A healthy environment and natural nutrition;

- High physical activity — elderly people still take part in household and garden work;

- A positive social climate — young people treat the elderly with respect and value their experience;

- Low stress levels and a natural way of life.
