Famous British actress and screenwriter Emma Thompson recalled an unusual incident from 1998 while speaking at the Locarno Film Festival. According to her, during the filming of Primary Colors, the phone rang in her trailer, and on the other end of the line was Donald Trump introducing himself.
Trump invited the actress to have dinner “at one of his wonderful places.” Thompson politely declined the invitation and decided not to get in touch again.
The actress said that at the time she was on the verge of divorce, and noted that Trump might have had people who searched for women matching his preferences. She jokingly called this incident “stalking.”
Thompson added humorously: “If I had agreed, perhaps U.S. history would have taken a different turn.”
