Turkey has suspended all contacts with Israel, its airspace has been closed

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced that Ankara has completely severed all economic and trade relations with Israel, and that the country's airspace will now be closed to Israeli aircraft. According to him, Turkish ships will also be strictly prohibited from entering Israeli ports from now on.
Speaking at the parliamentary session, the minister made a sharp statement:
"Israel's thoughtless strikes on the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, and Iran are a terrorist attack against the entire international community. These actions pose a serious threat to the security of the region," he said.
Recall that in May 2024, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also announced the suspension of trade relations with Israel due to the Gaza war.
According to official statistics, in 2023, the trade turnover between the two countries reached $6.8 billion, of which a huge share - 75% - was accounted for by Turkish exports. In recent months, the Israeli press has reported that Turkish ports have begun demanding unofficial certificates from ship owners stating they have no connection to Israel and are not transporting military or dangerous goods.
Erdoğan also officially announced the suspension of Turkey's diplomatic relations with Israel on November 13th of last year.
Thus, Ankara's new decisive step has taken relations between the two countries to a completely new level and is causing significant analysis of the geopolitical situation in the region.
