From September 1, entering Latvia without an electronic declaration will be impossible, Kursiv reported.
Starting from September 1, 2025, Latvia enforces new entry rules for third-country nationals. Uzbek citizens without a national visa or residence permit must submit an online declaration in advance via eta.gov.lv.
The form must be submitted at least 48 hours before arrival. A confirmation email will be sent and must be shown at the border.
Who is affected
The rules apply to most foreign nationals. Citizens of the EU, NATO, EAEU, OECD, Switzerland, and Brazil are exempt and do not need a declaration.
Penalties for non-compliance
Entry to Latvia may be denied.
A fine of up to 2,000 euros (approx. 27 million Uzbek soums) may apply.
Future travel to Latvia may be restricted.
