In Nevada’s desert (USA), at the famous “Burning Man” festival, an unusual event took place — a young couple unexpectedly welcomed a baby girl in their trailer. The woman did not even know she was pregnant. This was reported by Pravilamag.
Festival participant Kayla Thompson told reporters that on August 27 she and her husband had stayed overnight in their trailer. Suddenly, she felt severe pain, and shortly after gave birth to a 1.6 kg baby girl in the bathroom.
According to Kayla, during the pregnancy she had not noticed any “signs of pregnancy” and they had not even thought about having a child.
After the birth, her husband ran out to seek help and managed to find a midwife, a pediatrician, and a gynecologist among the festival attendees. After receiving first aid, the mother and baby were first taken to the festival’s medical center and then transferred to a hospital in Reno. The baby was flown there by helicopter, while the mother had to go by car — the couple recalled this as “one of the hardest decisions”.
Kayla noted that even the nurses at the hospital joked that she “didn’t look like a woman who had just given birth”.The festival organizers congratulated the Thompson family, saying:
“Despite the wind, the heat, and the sandstorms, they brought new life into the world of Black Rock City. At ‘Burning Man,’ the most important values we celebrate are life, connection, change, and joy”.
