Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy once again openly stated that he has no intention of meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. According to him, Putin is using every means to postpone the negotiations.
"Our American partners told us that Putin invited me to Moscow. But I think if you don't want the meeting to take place, you should invite me specifically to Moscow," Zelenskyy said at a press conference following the "volunteer coalition" summit in Paris on September 4th.
The Ukrainian president emphasized that the meeting itself is "necessary," but for now, the Russian side is busy delaying the meeting. At the same time, he assessed Putin's comment on such a meeting not as a bad situation, but as an invigorating aspect of the possibility of negotiations.
As a reminder, on September 3rd, Vladimir Putin, speaking about a potential meeting with Zelenskyy, said, "If he is ready, let him come to Moscow." However, Russian officials have previously repeatedly emphasized that such a face-to-face meeting is only possible at the final stage of the negotiation process.
