A trial has begun in Germany against a palliative care physician who committed at least 15 murders.
40-year-old Johannes M., who worked in a palliative care group and nursing service in Berlin, was accused of premeditated murder of 15 patients. However, investigators believe that he deliberately took the lives of about 100 people.
The main task of a palliative care physician is to observe seriously ill and mentally unstable patients at home and alleviate their physical and emotional burdens. However, the accused, in violation of this obligation, provided the patients with a mixture of life-threatening drugs. A few minutes after such an injection, most patients stopped breathing.
Additionally, he attempted to destroy the fuel by burning fuel in the victims' homes to conceal the traces of the murder. This situation caused a great stir among citizens and local media.
The trial will last at least until the end of January 2026. The prosecutor's office demands that Johannes M. be sentenced to life imprisonment without the right to review the sentence.
