Turkish police helped Russian celebrities recover their stolen funds. In Istanbul, singer Valeria and her husband, producer Iosif Prigozhin, fell into the hands of a cunning Turkish taxi driver.
Various sources write about the incident. When the Russian guests got into a taxi, the driver demanded $30 for the trip and demanded to pay everything in advance - by card.
Several times, he said that the payment had not been made, repeatedly handed over the terminal and asked Prigozhin to insert the card until the fourth time. Each time, the taxi driver used the producer's plastic card, and eventually Iosif Prigozhin realized that he was being deceived.
As a result, a total of $12,000 was withdrawn from Prigozhin's account. According to reports, the money was transferred in four installments, each of $3,000.
Luckily, the producer managed to take a photo of the taxi and called the police. Law enforcement officers quickly caught the fraudster.
The taxi driver was taken to the police station, where he was forced to apologize and return the money. Valeria and Prigozhin got all the money back in cash, in Turkish lira.
