Erdogan gave a harsh answer to Israel on the Jerusalem issue

During his speech at the TEKNOFEST event in Istanbul, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a sharp response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He emphasized that no matter what pressures there may be, Turkey and the Muslim world will never back down from defending Jerusalem.

In his speech, Erdogan noted that Jerusalem is a sacred place not only for Muslims, but for all of humanity. "Any threat to our first qibla, Jerusalem, is an attack on the honor of humanity. There will certainly be a response to such oppression and aggression," the Turkish leader said.

These words were made after the visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the disputed archaeological site "The City of David" on September 15. At that time, Netanyahu, through the ancient "Sylvan script," dating back to the 8th century BC and preserved in Turkish museums, put forward requirements for the history of Jerusalem and declared that "this city is eternally ours."

In response, Erdogan categorically stated that not only the 2700-year-old inscription, but also a single stone belonging to Jerusalem would not be returned to Israel. He emphasized that "killers who stained their hands with the blood of 65 thousand innocent oppressed" do not have the right to arbitrarily pass judgments about the fate of Jerusalem.

The Turkish leader characterized Jerusalem as a place of honor for Muslims and humanity, emphasizing that any attack on this sacred land will encounter resistance from the international community. Several days ago, Erdogan also referred to the Israeli Prime Minister as "like Hitler," emphasizing that Jerusalem, the common heritage of two billion Muslims, will never be left unprotected.

We remind you that Israel occupied East Jerusalem after the Six-Day War of 1967 and considers it its indivisible capital. According to international agreements, East Jerusalem should become the capital of an independent Palestinian state. In recent years, Israeli aggressive actions against the Al-Aqsa Mosque and other holy sites have been sharply condemned by the international community.
