US President Donald Trump announced that he will hold a face-to-face meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping within the framework of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, which will be held in South Korea from October 31 to November 1. The American leader announced this on September 19th after a phone call with Xi on the Truth Social platform.
Trump noted that the two leaders have reached an agreement on a number of strategically important issues. "We have reached an effective agreement in very important areas - in the field of trade, the fight against fentanyl, the need to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, and the approval of the TikTok agreement," the US President noted.
According to him, Trump and Xi Jinping agreed to exchange visits in the coming years to further strengthen bilateral relations. In particular, Trump announced his intention to make an official visit to China at the beginning of 2026. At the same time, Xi Jinping is also scheduled to visit the USA, but the exact dates will be set later.
The American leader also expressed his gratitude for the agreement on TikTok. "Thank you for reaching an agreement on TikTok. Now we both look forward to meeting at the APEC summit in Seoul," Trump added.
