The famous actor James Dean’s love letter to actress Barbara Glenn was sold at the RR Auction in New York for $32,500 (2.6 million rubles), reports the New York Post.
The two-page letter was written in 1954 — a year before the actor died in a fatal car crash. At that time, Glenn was living in New York, while Dean was in Hollywood working on his first major project — the film “East of Eden.”
“I didn’t write a letter because I fell in love,” Dean begins. In the letter, he writes that he was impressed by a horse named Cisco and even included a drawing of the horse. The actor also confides to his beloved that he is “very lonely,” opens up about his feelings, and emphasizes how much he misses her.
Barbara Glenn and Dean met in the early 1950s through their mutual acquaintance, actor Martin Landau. They dated for two years, but after Dean moved to California, their relationship ended. Later, Glenn married actor Mark Gordon, and they had a son named Keith.
