U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to visit Egypt next Tuesday, Axios reported, citing several sources. According to the information, Trump will first arrive in Israel on Monday, October 13. There, he is scheduled to deliver a speech at the Knesset — the Israeli parliament — and meet with families of Israeli hostages.
That same evening, he will meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. During the expected meeting, Trump may sign the Gaza agreement together with the guarantors of the deal — the leaders of Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey.
In addition, Trump is also likely to participate in an international summit planned to be held in Sharm el-Sheikh. The summit will focus on discussions about the Gaza situation. According to sources, invitations have been sent to the heads of state or foreign ministers of Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Qatar, the UAE, Jordan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Indonesia.
However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not expected to attend the summit. U.S. officials confirmed to Axios that Trump plans to participate in the event. The summit is scheduled for Tuesday morning, though sources note it could be moved up to Monday.
