A catastrophic disaster caused by natural disasters in Mexico in recent days has shaken the country. The death toll from heavy rains and floods caused by Tropical Storms Priscilla and Raymond has reached 72. This was reported by local media.

According to reports, another 48 citizens are still missing due to the disaster. Search and rescue operations are ongoing, but it has not yet been possible to find all missing persons.

Over the past week, heavy rain and mudslides have caused significant losses in five Mexican states - Veracruz, Puebla, Hidalgo, Tabasco, and Oaxaca. The largest damage was inflicted on the provinces of Veracruz and Puebla - many houses were destroyed, bridges and roads were destroyed, and thousands of people were left homeless.

The Mexican government has mobilized large forces to deal with the consequences of the disaster. According to official data, 21 helicopters and additional rescue teams were mobilized for search and rescue operations. They are conducting search operations mainly in flooded areas, roads, deep ravines, and destroyed buildings.

According to Mexico's Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), nearly 95.4% of the power supply system has been restored in five states affected by the natural disaster. Electrical engineers and local utilities are working together.

At the same time, the authorities organized temporary accommodations for the evacuated population. Work continues around the clock to deliver food, water, and medical assistance to the victims.

According to local media, as tropical storms Priscilla and Raymond hit the Mexican coast, atmospheric pressure dropped sharply and flooded dozens of roads within 24 hours. In some areas, the water level has risen to two meters.
