In northern Gaza, an Israeli tank hit a bus, killing 11 members of one family. The Hamas-run civil defence reported the incident, saying women and children were among the victims.
According to reports, the Abu Shaban family was trying to return home to inspect their house when the bus was hit in Gaza City's Zeitoun district. This was the deadliest incident since the ceasefire was announced last week.
The Israeli army said the bus was a “suspicious vehicle,” which prompted the shooting. Hamas rejected the claim, saying the attack targeted civilians.
Details of the incident are still unclear. Israel’s defence minister said steps would be taken to clearly mark the border areas.
