Today we will talk about Ramzan Kadyrov, whom many of you love. In early October, an incident occurred in Grozny, and after that, rumors about "Qodirov's deputy" increased again. Questions like "Will Magomed Daudov take Kadyrov's place?" began to sound even louder.
"As the interim leader of Chechnya..."
On October 5, a new Chechen government building was opened in Grozny. At the event, which was attended by all local leaders, first the mayor of Grozny, then the head of the Chechen government, Magomed Daudov, spoke and praised the head of the region, Ramzan Kadyrov, and his father, the first head of Chechnya, Akhmad Kadyrov. By the way, October 5th is Ramzan Kadyrov's birthday.
During the ceremony, Magomed Daudov presented Ramzan Kadyrov with the title of "Hero of Chechnya." Kadyrov had one such order, and this was the second Hero Order. He has the order "Hero of Russia." The Kadyrovs have no problem with orders or awards.
In fact, it is not news that some Kadyrov is awarded some kind of order, but what Magomed Daudov said during the award ceremony attracted the attention of many: "As the acting head of the Chechen Republic, at the initiative of all members of the great Ahmad Kadyrov team, I signed a decree on awarding Ramzan Kadyrov the title of "Hero of Chechnya."
Daudov's official position is the head of the Chechen government, but in his speech, he said that he signed the decree "as acting head of Chechnya." Meanwhile, no federal agency has reported a change of leader in Chechnya, and Daudov has become the interim leader. If Daudov says that he temporarily replaced Kadyrov only to award this award, there is no legal need for this: the head of the region will reward himself with his own decree. For example, when Kadyrov received the "Hero of Chechnya" order for the first time, the decree was issued with his signature.
Most interestingly, if you pay attention to the video, Daudov emphasized that he "signed the document as acting head of Chechnya." Actually, one shouldn't even say that, "Lord" is already a big man. Judging by the fact that Daudov's words are also shown in the video, there is something here that has not been published in open sources. After all, rumors about Kadyrov leaving didn't appear yesterday. The most frequently mentioned Chechen as his deputy is also Magomed Daudov. The video further fueled these rumors.
Who is Daudov?
Those who carefully observe life in Chechnya don't need to be introduced to who Magomed Daudov is. I believe most of you know the people around Qodirov even better than we do. We're just introducing Daudov for the uninitiated. "Lord" is one of the closest associates of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov. After Adam Delimkhanov, he can be considered the closest one.
The 45-year-old Daudov's only characteristic is not his loyalty to Ramzan Kadyrov; he has tremendous power, both in Russia and Chechnya. His military rank is lieutenant general, he was awarded the title "Hero of Russia," and he also participated in the war in Ukraine. Daudov is an old soldier, in his time Ahmad Kadyrov held a high position in the security service, an old friend of Ramzan Kadyrov.
However, recently, Daudov has been increasingly portrayed as "Qodirov's deputy." In May of last year, he left the post of Speaker of the Parliament of Chechnya and was transferred to the post of Prime Minister. After this, Daudov began to frequently hold meetings with local leaders, and a PR campaign aimed at enhancing his image had already begun. Recently, Daudov has been appearing mainly in military uniform. This is reminiscent of Ramzan Kadyrov, who came to power in Chechnya.
It's no longer a secret that Ramzan Akhmatovich has health problems, and Kadyrov doesn't look as energetic as before. It's no coincidence that she strives to make her younger son Adam famous by giving him awards one after another, appearing with him in every video.
The awarding of the title of "Hero of Chechnya" to Kadyrov reminded me personally that the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev renamed the entire capital in honor of former President Nursultan Nazarbayev. Soon the name of Astana was restored, Nazarbayev remained in the shadows, and Tokayev appeared on the big stage as a reformer. We'll see what happens in Chechnya. It's no coincidence that Daudov introduced himself as "the acting head of Chechnya..."
