Destructive rain and tornado hit Portugal and Britain

On November 15, strong storm killed three people and injured dozens in Portugal. The storm brought heavy rain and strong wind to Portugal and neighboring Spain for several days, and later reached Britain and Ireland.
In Portugal, rescuers found the bodies of an elderly couple inside their home in Fernao Ferro after it was flooded. In southern Portugal, a tornado struck, killing an 85-year-old British woman and injuring 28 people, two of whom were hospitalized. Portugal’s President Marcelo Rebelo de Souza expressed condolences to the victim’s family and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
In Britain, Monmouth and surrounding areas suffered severe flooding, damaging homes, transport, and electricity systems. Rescue services in Wales are carrying out evacuations.
Wales issued 11 flood warnings, four of them serious. In England, there are 49 active flood warnings and 134 flood alerts. Aerial footage shows the town center and residential areas submerged in water.
