The Titanic passenger's pocket watch sold at a record auction

A gold pocket watch owned by Isidor Strauss, a deceased Titanic passenger, was sold for a record £1.78 million ($2.3 million) at the Henry Aldridge & Son auction. This was reported by The Guardian.
Jules Jurgensen's 18-carat gold watch was gifted to Strauss in 1888 on his 43rd birthday and rose from the bottom after the crash. Their new price record surpassed the gold watch of the rescue ship's captain, who was sold for £1.56 million last year.
