US President Donald Trump announced an important phone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the Truth Social social network on Monday, November 24th. He noted that the dialogue was held in a "very good" spirit, and the parties exchanged views on the Ukraine-Russia war and a number of other international problems. Despite this, Trump did not specify which aspects of the Ukrainian conflict were at the center of the discussion.
Within the framework of the telephone conversation, not only geopolitical contradictions, but also mutually beneficial areas between the two countries were discussed. President Trump specifically addressed the fight against dangerous drugs like fentanyl, as well as the trade in agricultural products. He believes that US-China relations are currently in a "very stable and stable" state.
According to Trump, Xi Jinping invited him to pay an official visit to Beijing in April. In response, Trump stated that he had invited the Chinese leader to visit the US between May and December 2026. This indicates the possibility of reviving political dialogue between the two countries.
The Chinese news agency "Xinhua" also confirmed the conversation. They reported that Xi Jinping conveyed Beijing's firm stance on the Taiwan issue to Trump during the phone call. It was noted that the exchange of views on this topic took place in an even deeper and more serious manner.
Another key area of discussion is the crisis in Ukraine. According to Xinhua, Xi Jinping emphasized his support for any efforts aimed at a peaceful resolution of the conflict. He expressed hope that the parties would come closer earlier and reach a fair, stable, and long-term peace agreement. At the same time, he noted the need for a radical settlement of the conflict.
