Europe may face major conflicts between humans and robots by 2035. This analysis is presented in a report prepared by the European Union's police service - Europol. Parts of the document were published in The Daily Telegraph.
According to the Europol report, which describes the possible future development of society, robots "will become an integral part of everyday life throughout Europe" and are actively used in various fields, such as delivery and cleaning. At the same time, in socially disadvantaged urban areas, unemployed people may try to show mutual discontent. At the same time, in some cases, there is a possibility of increased resistance to robots.
As European experts say, as tension in society increases, every small incident, even the errors or malfunctions of robots, can escalate into nationwide conflicts. This can lead to the further spread of populist slogans, especially about the interests of the people.
Europol also noted with concern that in the future cybercriminals will redirect robots to work illegally, assign them new tasks, and reprogram them for collecting information or committing crimes.
In response to such threats, law enforcement agencies are told that it is necessary to disable robots and equip them with nanogranates. In addition, law enforcement officers must be provided with "weapons that freeze robots."
