Israeli forces have killed senior Hamas commander Raed Saed in Gaza, several Israeli media outlets reported. Saed was one of the planners of the attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023.
According to Gaza health authorities, four people were killed and at least 25 were injured in the strike. Hamas has not confirmed Saed’s death.
The Israeli military said the strike targeted a senior commander, but did not reveal the name. If Saed is killed, it would be the highest-ranking Hamas leader to be killed since the October ceasefire agreement.
Saed previously led the Hamas battalion in Gaza, headed the group’s weapons manufacturing unit, and was considered the second-in-command of the armed wing.
