Syria: Two US Soldiers and Interpreter Killed in Attack

The US military confirmed that two soldiers and a civilian interpreter were killed in Syria during an attack by a lone Islamic State fighter. Three other service members were injured. The attacker was killed by US forces at the scene.

The identities of the dead are being withheld for 24 hours until their families are informed. The Department of Defense continues to support the injured and their families.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegset emphasized that attacks on Americans will not go unpunished and will be met with strong response.
