On December 13, the Israel Defense Forces announced the elimination of one of Hamas's high-ranking military leaders - the head of the weapons production headquarters, Raed Saad. The Israeli side cites him as one of the main planners of the attack on the country during the events of October 7.
According to the SAHAL statement, Raed Saad led the process of strengthening Hamas's military capabilities, preparing new combat equipment, and restoring lost capabilities during the war. He is mentioned as a person who played a central role in the group's military infrastructure.
According to joint information with the Israeli special services - SHABAK, in recent weeks, Hamas fighters have attempted to resume armed activity. In particular, they attempted to use improvised explosive devices against the Israeli military. This was considered a violation of the terms of the ceasefire agreement.
