On Friday, December 12, a grand unveiling ceremony was held in Osh, Kyrgyzstan, for a statue dedicated to the great poet, philosopher, and statesman Alisher Navoi. This event, imbued with significant cultural meaning, was hailed as a vivid expression of the cultural closeness and historical unity between the two fraternal nations.
The statue of Navoi has been erected at the intersection of Qurmandjan Datka and Navoi Streets, a central area of Osh. This location was not chosen by chance, as it is a place frequently visited by both city residents and guests, making it a focal point of the city.
Currently, various landmarks in Osh are named after Alisher Navoi, including a park, a school, and a street. This demonstrates that the reverence for the great thinker is not merely symbolic but is also expressed in practical ways.
According to representatives of the city administration, the installation of this statue aims to further strengthen the bonds of friendship, mutual respect, and brotherhood between the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. Additionally, it is considered a vibrant example of the attention given to shared cultural values and historical heritage.
It is worth mentioning that Osh is home to the Uzbek Academic Theater named after Babur, which is a significant cultural institution not only for Kyrgyzstan but also for Uzbekistan, fostering spiritual connections between the two nations.
The erection of Alisher Navoi's statue in Osh is not just a tribute to a historical figure but represents another significant step toward strengthening the shared roots and spiritual unity that link the two nations.
