Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy continues peace talks in Berlin with US envoys and European leaders. Ukraine said it is ready to drop its NATO ambitions in exchange for security guarantees from Western countries.
During the talks, Zelenskiy and US envoys, including Jared Kushner, are discussing several issues. Kremlin representatives view Ukraine not joining NATO as a key issue and expect updates from the US after the talks.
Later this week, the European Union will consider providing Ukraine with a loan using frozen assets of the Russian central bank. European leaders are focused on ensuring Ukraine’s security and supporting the peace talks.
Three main documents are being worked on: a 20-point peace plan, security guarantees for Kyiv, and documents for Ukraine’s economic reconstruction. Russia demands that Ukraine not join NATO, withdraw from the Donbas region, and remain neutral. European leaders stress the need for caution in the talks.
