Bloody night in Hasaka: did Kurdish forces shoot at civilians?

In the province of Hasakah in northeastern Syria, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDK) are accused of committing mass violence against civilians. This situation was exacerbated shortly after the declaration of a ceasefire between Kurdish structures and the transitional government in Damascus.

According to local sources and information spread on social networks, on the night of January 18-19, SDK units conducted large-scale raids in the mainly Arab neighborhoods and rural areas of Hasaka. The situation is particularly dire in the southern suburbs of the city and the Gveiran neighborhood.

Witnesses stated that before the start of the operations, the power supply was cut off, after which homes were searched, and shots were fired at civilians. Some sources claim that such actions were carried out for the purpose of intimidation and punishment.
