China reveals details of the cancelled US strike on Iran

Chinese media released a new version of Putin's phone call
While the tension around the Middle East was "heating up" again, a sensational version emerged in the Chinese media landscape: supposedly, the planned US strike on Tehran was canceled at the last minute, and a single diplomatic call played a decisive role in this.
Chinese journalists interpret these events against the backdrop of the actions of the American carrier "Abraham Lincoln" in the region and Moscow-Tehran relations. Their claim is that by the morning of January 30, Washington had come very close to the military scenario, but then "there was no strike," and shortly after, the aircraft carrier group was transferred to another direction.
A guest flying to Moscow and attentive silence
Against this backdrop, on January 30, reports emerged that Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, was in Moscow. The Kremlin also officially confirmed his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
There is an interesting point here: the details of the meeting were not widely disclosed in official reports. It is this "detailing" that some media outlets are using to strengthen their version.
The carrier is indeed in the region
The carrier's topic isn't just airborne: several sources have written about the "Abraham Lincoln" group being redirected to the CENTCOM area amid tension in recent weeks.
But an important point: the scenario "the strike was ready, then it was cancelled after the call" - in this form, it is not confirmed by official documents or reliable independent evidence. Therefore, this part is, for now, at the level of media estimates.
Why is this version rotating?
According to Chinese publications, Moscow has issued a harsh signal to Washington, allegedly warning that if the US attacks, Russia could strengthen Tehran's anti-ship capabilities. These words spread quickly on social media, as the plot resembles a movie script that says "one call - and history turns." And life is usually not a movie.
But negotiations are indeed on the agenda
At the same time, there are clear signals about the diplomatic route: on February 2, Donald Trump said that communication with Iran was ongoing. According to a Reuters source, there have also been reports that US Special Representative Steve Whitkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi may meet in Istanbul.
So, the real picture is close to this: there is military pressure, the diplomatic path is open - and in the big game, the two often play simultaneously.
Conclusion
So far, the claim that "Putin saved Iran" is not a proven fact, but rather a media version. But there is no doubt that the meeting in Moscow, the actions of the air carrier in the region, and the signals about the Washington-Tehran negotiations all indicate the same thing: the stage is large, the game is intense, but the door for diplomacy is not yet closed.
At such times, the most correct position is to observe based on verified information, not emotions. Because in geopolitics, there are many "messages," and truth usually arrives more slowly.
