Bloomberg reports that China's stance on the conflict in Ukraine has changed

China's position on resolving the conflict in Ukraine has changed. Bloomberg reported this on February 14th, citing Western sources.
According to the agency, although China was initially concerned about the economic consequences of the conflict, now the country looks at the situation differently. This is also due to the fact that Europe's attention is focused on Ukraine and distanced from Asia.
At the same time, Bloomberg noted that Chinese President Xi Jinping was quite confident in supporting Russian President Vladimir Putin on the Ukraine issue. In addition, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reiterated his country's position on Ukraine, stating that China is not directly involved in the Ukrainian crisis. He also emphasized that China fully supports the peace process.
It is noted that this casts doubt on the efforts of Western leaders aimed at improving relations with China. A day earlier, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that China supports Europe initiating dialogue with Russia to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, but now the European Union needs to present its ideas and plans for resolving the crisis. He clarified the need to eliminate the root causes of the conflict and ensure lasting peace and stability in Europe. The diplomat also noted that China is not a direct participant in the conflict.
At the same time, US Permanent Representative to NATO Matthew Whitaker stated that China is capable of ending the conflict in Ukraine.
