Against the backdrop of the US military operation against Iran, new figures have emerged regarding Washington's material losses. According to calculations collected by the Anadolu Agency, the US has lost nearly $1.902 billion worth of military equipment and infrastructure to date. However, there is an important point here: this amount is based on Anatolia's own report, and the Pentagon has not yet provided complete, one-by-one independent confirmation on all points.
The largest loss reported in the report is linked to the Al-Udeid base in Qatar. According to TRT World and Anadolu, the AN/FPS-132 early warning radar system located there was hit, estimated at $1.1 billion. Reuters did not have independent confirmation of this exact amount, so it is more accurate to take this figure as the agency's account.
The situation in Kuwait caused a particular stir. The US Central Command officially announced that three F-15s were involved in the "friendly fire" incident, stating that all six crew members survived. However, CENTCOM's official statement did not provide a final conclusion about the cost of the aircraft or whether they were "mistakenly shot down" by Kuwait - the reason is still under investigation. At the same time, AP and other sources cite a scenario of misfiring by the Kuwaiti air defense.
According to Anadolu, the cost of these three F-15E fighters is estimated at $282 million. This figure may logically coincide with the price of modern F-15E aircraft, but official US military statements do not specify the exact loss figure of $282 million. Therefore, this should also be given as the agency's assessment.
Another major episode mentioned in the text is the damage to the THAAD missile defense system in the UAE. Anadolu estimates this at $500 million. However, reliable open sources do not have independent confirmation at the Pentagon or Reuters level regarding this episode. Therefore, this clause should also be presented with caution for now in the form "according to the agency's report."
Anadolu also reports that a US Fifth Fleet supply point in Bahrain was hit, where two satellite communication terminals and several facilities were destroyed. However, there is still no broad independent confirmation of this part in major international sources.
In short, the current picture is as follows: it's clear that the US has real losses - especially the three F-15 incidents in Kuwait have been officially confirmed. However, the total account of $1.902 billion, damage amounts for THAAD and some other objects are mainly based on Anadolu's compilation and valuation. Therefore, although these figures may sound sensational, it would be more accurate to consider them as preliminary economic calculations of the battle, rather than a fully approved final balance sheet.
