One of the most tragic pages of the armed conflict in the Middle East has been opened. The horrific incident that occurred in the small town of Minab in southern Iran shocked the world community. On the very first day of the American-Israeli military campaign, a blow to a primary school claimed the lives of hundreds of innocent children. Zamin.uz analyzes this tragedy and the vague statements of the White House.

According to Iranian state media and medical officials, at least 175 people died as a result of the airstrike on the "Shajarayi Toyyiba" girls' school in Minab. Most regrettably, the absolute majority of the victims are primary school students.

Mourning on the Minob: A row of graves five miles away

On Tuesday, the streets of Minab were filled with thousands of mourners. At the cemetery on the outskirts of the city, workers are digging graves in continuous rows. This event was noted as the largest and deadliest loss among civilians since the beginning of the war.

The White House and the Pentagon: "We are learning"

The White House and the US Department of Defense (Ministry of War) are avoiding a clear response to this incident. The responses of the officials at the briefings held on March 4 were of the same content:

  • Caroline Levitt (White House reporter): "As far as we know, this is not our business. The Ministry of War is investigating the situation."
  • Pete Heggett (Minister of Defense): "We never target civilian facilities. We are studying the situation."

In response to journalists' questions: "It's been four days since the strike, is it possible that the perpetrator is still unknown?" - the Pentagon chief simply repeated that the investigation is ongoing.

International law and "propaganda" charges

UNESCO called the attack a gross violation of international humanitarian law and noted the inviolability of schools. However, the White House administration considers this "effective propaganda" of the Iranian regime.

"The United States does not target civilians, unlike the evil Iranian regime, which exterminates its own people and children," said Caroline Levitt. He urged journalists not to fall for Iranian propaganda and to be cautious about pointing fingers at the US.

Currently, it has not been officially confirmed who struck the school - the US military or Israeli forces. But the relatives of 175 victims and the whole world are still waiting for a clear answer.

In your opinion, is it true that in an era of high modern intelligence capabilities, it is impossible to identify the striker within four days? Or is this part of a political game?
