Imprisoned in the US, Maduro addressed his people

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, held in a US prison, sent an unusual letter to his people on the occasion of March 8, International Women's Day. The politician's son, Nicolas Maduro Guerra, published his father's message on his social media pages. Reports tengrinews.kz.
In the letter, Maduro urged his compatriots to have faith and conviction in overcoming difficulties. Quoting Jesus Christ's words about faith capable of moving mountains, he expressed confidence that the trials facing the country would soon end. This is one of the first messages sent by the president to the people since his arrest in the US.
As a reminder, on January 3, 2025, US special services detained Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores. On January 5, they were charged in a New York federal court with involvement in drug trafficking. Maduro and his wife did not plead guilty. Currently, Delcy Rodriguez, who previously served as vice president, has temporarily taken over the administration of Venezuela.
