Their main goal was simply to kill Khamenei. They predicted a leadership change and the collapse of the regime after his death. However, the Iranian system of government did not turn out to be the kind of centralized dictatorship they had assumed. They forgot that Iran is not Venezuela, not Syria. They didn't realize that Iran was a completely different country. Despite Trump's call, people took to the streets and did not seize power.
From the very first days of the war, Iran began shelling Arab countries in response to the attacks of the USA and Israel. The reason is simple: the US has military bases in Arab countries. Iran's main target was Dubai. The most popular city for tourists in the Arab world was Dubai. After the attacks of Iran, Dubai became a city of ghosts. People fled Dubai. In just a few days, Iran has turned Dubai, the world's busiest tourist destination, into one of the world's most dangerous cities. Now the Persian Gulf will not be the same as before. The war changed a lot.
By the fifth year of the war between Russia and Ukraine, the world's most powerful country had requested assistance from Ukraine to combat Iranian drones. Russia has launched so many Shahid drones in 5 years that Ukraine has become an expert in their interception. Today, drone flight is taught as a separate subject in Ukrainian schools. The Ukrainian military has learned to shoot down Iranian drones using other cheap drones. For this reason, the US has requested drone assistance from Ukraine to protect its Middle Eastern partners. Arabs have plenty of weapons and plenty of money. But low-flying kamikaze drones cannot be hit with expensive missiles. It turned out that the Americans, who had focused on expensive weapons, were not ready for a cheap war. Therefore, they appealed to Ukraine for help.
