Trump's statement: NATO and Allies face a "very dark" future

US President Donald Trump, in an interview with The Financial Times (FT) on Sunday, March 15th, commented on the issue of free movement in the Strait of Hormuz and NATO's future. He emphasized that if Washington's allies do not support US military actions against Iran, NATO will face a very dark and complex situation.

Trump called on European countries to join forces against Iran and demanded the deployment of mine-clearing vessels. According to the president, Europe and China are significantly dependent on oil from the Persian Gulf, therefore their cooperation is important.

According to him, the US and Israel have been carrying out airstrikes against Iran since February 28. As a result of these actions, high-ranking members of the leadership of the Islamic Republic were killed. In response, Iran continues to strike Israel, some Gulf states, and US targets.

Trump also stated that he could postpone his meeting with Xi Jinping at the end of March if Beijing doesn't help ensure free movement through the strait. According to the president, Europe and China, unlike the US, depend on regional oil supplies.

Oil prices in international markets reached $106 per barrel on the evening of March 15, indicating an increase of approximately 45% between the US and Israel since the start of the war against Iran.

US President Donald Trump stated that the war could end "when he wants," but there is currently no interest in negotiations, and he emphasized that he is focusing on weakening Iran's military potential through joint strategic steps.

This situation will be of great importance for military actions, global peace, and geopolitical balance in the region in the near future.
