Pakistan airstrikes on hospital in Kabul

Afghan officials claimed that Pakistani forces carried out airstrikes in Kabul on March 16. Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid called the attack "a crime and an inhuman act," AFP reports.

According to the Associated Press, the attack targeted a drug treatment center, resulting in at least 400 deaths and approximately 250 injuries. According to CNN, the attack occurred around 9:00 PM local time, and a large part of the 2,000-seat building was destroyed.

Pakistan denied these accusations and called the attacks "false and misleading." The Ministry of Information stated that the strikes targeted only military facilities and terrorist support infrastructure, including bases of Pakistani militants operating from Afghanistan.

The conflict between the two countries escalated after Pakistan attacked Tehrik-e-Taliban positions on February 22. The incident is attracting the attention of the international community and making regional security issues even more relevant.
