Iran said Bushehr nuclear plant was hit

Iran has informed the International Atomic Energy Agency about another strike at the Bushehr nuclear power plant site, saying there were no casualties and the facility remains in normal condition. According to the agency, Tehran reported that an additional projectile hit a building at the plant. Reports Tengrinews.kz.

The IAEA said Iran told inspectors that the station itself was not damaged, no staff members were injured and operations were not disrupted. IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi again called for maximum restraint, warning that military activity around nuclear facilities can create serious risks for nuclear safety during an armed conflict.

Earlier, Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization said the Bushehr plant area had already come under two Israeli strikes. It said the first projectile landed on the industrial site of the station, but the incident did not cause deaths or affect the plant’s work.

Iranian officials also recalled a similar episode on March 17, when a projectile reportedly fell near the Bushehr facility. They said that event also caused no casualties or destruction. The latest report adds to growing concern over the security of nuclear infrastructure as tensions in the region remain high.
