Pakistan expressed its readiness to mediate between Iran and the US

Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif stated that Islamabad is ready to provide a platform for organizing meaningful and practical negotiations on the situation in the Middle East. He emphasized that the country supports initiatives aimed at ensuring peace and stability in the region.

On his social media page, the Prime Minister stated that Pakistan welcomes the efforts to continue dialogue aimed at ending the war. At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the media to refrain from various speculations and wait for official information.

It was reported that on March 23, US President Donald Trump announced the possibility of negotiations with Iran and introduced a five-day break for attacks on energy facilities. According to him, Special Envoy Steve Whitkoff and Jared Kushner held talks with a key figure in Iran.

However, Tehran officials denied any contact with Washington. According to Axios sources, Turkey, Egypt, and Pakistan have recently acted as mediators. The Express Tribune reported that Islamabad is being considered as a potential venue for negotiations, in which the US delegation may participate.
