Israeli strike: Iranian admiral killed, strain intensifies in strait

The tense situation in the Middle East has escalated. As a result of the military strike carried out by Israel, the commander of the naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Admiral Alireza Tangrisi, was killed. This was officially announced by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Kas.

He emphasized that Tangrisi was directly responsible for operations aimed at mining the Strait of Hormuz and restricting international ship traffic. Therefore, this operation is assessed as a strategic targeted strike.

According to Israeli military sources, the high-ranking commander was targeted during a secret meeting in Bandar Abbas. It is reported that he and a number of high-ranking military personnel were eliminated by a precise and planned strike.

Israel Kas assessed this operation as a sharp signal to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, stating that "the Israel Defense Forces will neutralize any threat and consistently eliminate the enemies."

As is known, the situation has worsened since February 28th following the US and Israel's military actions against Iran. The Strait of Hormuz was closed as a strategic route, and attacks were launched on ships attempting to navigate it. Since the beginning of the conflict, at least 22 ships have been hit.

Currently, about 3,200 ships have accumulated in the Persian Gulf, not daring to cross the strait. This could have a serious impact on global logistics and energy supply.

The Donald Trump administration is putting forward an ultimatum demanding that Iran open the strait. Meanwhile, Tehran officials announced on March 25th that the route would be open to ships from "non-enemy states."

Experts emphasize that the Strait of Hormuz is crucial for global energy security. Because about 35 percent of the world's oil reserves and 20 percent of liquefied gas are transported through this route.

The current situation can seriously affect not only regional, but also global economic stability. If the tension intensifies further, it is quite possible that this will trigger a new wave of crises in all world markets.
