The Middle East in Flames: Houthis Deliver the First Strike to Israel

The situation in the region is escalating: the Yemeni Houthis, considered Iran's main ally, have officially joined the conflict and targeted Israeli military facilities.
Geopolitical games in the Middle East have entered a new stage. The Yemeni Houthis (the Shias' "Ansar Allah" movement), supported by Iran, have officially announced that they have carried out a rocket attack against Israel for the first time. Yahya Saree, a representative of the movement, made a statement about this, emphasizing that the operation was successful.
The First Strike and Strategic Goals
The Houthis claim that the strikes were directed at important military points in southern Palestine. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that rockets were fired and announced that air defense systems were activated. Although there are no clear reports of destruction, the sounding of air alarms in a number of Israeli cities indicates how serious the situation is.
Important warning: The Houthis stated that they will continue the attacks "until the aggression stops" and expressed readiness to stand on Iran's side if other states join military actions against Tehran and its allies.
The Bab el-Mandeb Strait: Is the World Economy at Risk?

If Yemen fully joins the conflict, one of the world's most important maritime routes — the Bab el-Mandeb Strait — could be closed. This is bound to be not only a military but also a major economic blow to the US and Israel. After all, the safety of shipping in the Red Sea directly depends on this very area.
Diplomatic Actions and the Role of Saudi Arabia
Currently, the US and Israel are using all possibilities to prevent the Houthis from becoming even more deeply involved in the conflict. According to The Wall Street Journal, Saudi Arabia is also actively participating in diplomatic negotiations and trying to resolve the situation through diplomatic means.
Who are the Houthis?
The "Ansar Allah" movement, active in Yemen since the 1990s, represents the Zaidiyyah branch of Islam. Since 2014, Iran has been supporting them, including through the supply of weaponry, technology, and training, enabling the group to use rockets, drones, and naval mines. Today, they have become one of Iran's strongest and most loyal allies in the region.
Dear readers, do you think the Houthis' involvement in the war will completely change the situation in the region? How will the closure of the Bab el-Mandeb Strait affect the global market?
