India resumes importing Iranian oil after 7 years

Amid the unstable situation in the Middle East and supply disruptions, India has started buying Iranian oil again. The country's oil ministry officially announced this.
According to CNBC, India imported oil from Iran for the first time in seven years. It is noted that this time the payment process was carried out without any problems.
According to reports, disruptions in supply chains due to tensions in the Middle East prompted Indian oil refineries to turn to new sources. Through this, they resumed purchasing Iranian oil.
The Ministry of Energy also emphasized that there are no financial obstacles in this process. This indicates that energy cooperation between the two countries is being revived.
It is worth recalling that India last imported oil from Iran in 2019, before the introduction of US sanctions. Now, due to the global situation, this cooperation is being restored.
