This is the second armed attack on schools in Turkey in the last 24 hours. This time, the incident occurred at a secondary school in the Kahramanmaraş region.
According to preliminary information, the attack was carried out by an 8th-grade student of this school. It is reported that five pistols were found near him. He first opened fire into the air in the schoolyard, and then entered the building and continued firing.
It was later reported that the attacker committed suicide. It is speculated that the guns may have come from his father, who was a former police officer.
According to regional governor Mukkarram Unluer, 3 students and 1 teacher died as a result of the incident, and another 20 people were injured.
It should be recalled that the day before, an armed attack also occurred at a lyceum in the Siverek district of the Shonliurfa region, in which 18 people were injured and the attacker committed suicide.
